MODEL RELEASED. Urine analysis. General practice doctor placing a multiple test stick (Multistix) into a urine sample. The test stick will be immersed in the sample for a specific amount of time. It will then be removed and the test stick’s pads checked against a reference chart. Each pad tests for the presence (colour change) and/or quantity (colour intensity) of blood (haematuria), protein (kidney disease) and glucose (diabetes), and for urinary tract infections and cystitis (inflammation of the bladder).
Semen analysis is very important in evaluating fertility cases and status of post vasectomy cases.
Analysis of stool samples such as fecalysis, stool concentration technique, occult blood determination and stool examination for fats help clinician in early detection of gastro-intestinal bleeding, liver and biliary duct disorders and malabsorption syndrome.
